My concept is about ‘6th sense’ that is the harmony of senses from Asian to western style of music, paintings and movie clips. Almost all people have five senses (sight, hearing, touch, smell, taste; a classification devised by ancient peoples). It is generally agreed that there are at least seven different senses in humans, and a minimum of two more observed in other organisms. For me one another field that is 6th sense I want to say that the term of 6th sense because I have learn a lot of multimedia stuff from based on five senses but it could be different field for me like extra-sensory perception. So I decided to go for my concept of ‘6th sense’ that can represent not only the reflections of things in the world through five senses, but also it could be other things different from the real world.
Basically using flash web style page is the first step of my concept and I would like to create my face in 3D and clicking one of senses of my face is going to be the navigator or controlling the gate linked music or movie clips of my works. For example, my face can be divided into two by a vertical line in the middle of my face, left senses (ear or eye) can present Asian style media such as music and movie clips based on Asian traditional instrument or visual effects by oriental painting style movie clips or motion graphics with real objects in the world. Right senses can create differ from left ones but the music and the movie clips are exactly the same in different expression of using western style media things such as electronic guitar or painting style. Also users can experiences which sense present to and how effective both senses present at once.
Especially, my main point of my concept is to harmonise different cultural views or style of art works. I have selected for the music which is ‘canon’ that is the very classical music in popular. There are various version of the music as well so I can harmonise the music in different ways to combine the instruments where the music played. For the movie clips I have been thinking of but mostly recording everyday life objects captured by video camera and then add some of visual effects stylized Asian oriental painting and modern western style painting through motion graphic as well.
